Hatteras Library will be closed for move to new quarters
The
Hatteras Library, located in the Community Building in Hatteras
village, will be closed to the public from Thursday, May 15, through
Wednesday, May 28. This closure is necessary to allow library
operations and collections to be moved from the temporary location to
the new permanent location at the front of the Community Building.
During these weeks, no fines will accrue on items borrowed from the
Hatteras Library. Library officials ask that customers
please not return materials to the Hatteras Library book drop during
this time. All items on loan due these weeks or prior have an
additional two-week loan period automatically.
Persons needing to renew or request library materials or needing
reference assistance during he closure can contact the Manteo Library
at 473-2372 or the Kill Devil Hills Library at 441-4331.
Registered borrowers can also request materials and renew items via the
Internet at the library’s Web site, www.earlibrary.org. To renew materials, click on patron review.
Additionally, there will be no story hour on Tuesday, May 20 or May
27. “Growing Readers” story time will be held again
on Tuesday, June 3, at the library.
Regular visitors are aware that the Hatteras Library has been operating
out of temporary quarters since December. During this time, an
expansion and complete renovation of the Hatteras Library has been
completed.
The staff thanks customers for their patience during the construction
process, and they look forward to offering everyone the same friendly
and exceptional service starting Thursday, May 29, in the brand new
library located at the front of the Hatteras Community Building.
For more information, contact county librarian Jonathan Wark at 473-2372 or e-mail him at jwark@earlibrary.org
