recently renovated public boat ramps on Ocracoke Island have reopened
to the public. The two new concrete boat ramps are sloped at a steeper
grade, and extend farther into the sound than the former ramps. The
bulkheads and finger piers are in the same locations and configuration.
The project was started in January 2018, and was one of several NPS projects initiated during the off season.
public boat ramp is located on the northeast side of the National Park
Service public parking lot. Parking at the Ocracoke boat ramp parking
lot is limited to 1 week / 7 days, after which all vehicles (including
boat trailers, recreational vehicles, etc.) must be removed for at
least 24 hours.
