SALVO– Edward Agustus Hooper, 91, died Monday April 22, 2013 in NagsHead. Mr. Hooper was born in Salvo and was the son of the lateGarland A. and Maria Hooper Hooper. He worked for over 20 years aspostmaster of the United States Post Office in Salvo and was a memberof Clarks Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving arehis brother and dearest friend, William Bryan Hooper of Salvo, andnumerous nieces, nephews, and their children and many friends. Mr.Hooper was also predeceased by his sister, Myrtle H. Barnett, and hisbrothers, Floyd Hooper and Leslie Hooper.
A celebration of lifewas held in Twiford Colony Chapel Manteo on Wednesday, April 24, at 3p.m. by Rev. Chris Noble. Burial will be in Manteo Cemetery. Inlieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American HeartAssociation, 3131 RDU Center Suite 100, Morrisville, NC 27560 orAmerican Cancer Society, 930-A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
