MANTEO — Jeanne Ellen Ryder McCaffrey, of Manteo, NC, a loving wife, and mother, passed away on June 29, 2023, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA. She was 76 years old.
Born on December 7, 1946, in White Plains, NY, Jeanne lived a life of compassion and devotion, touching the hearts of those around her.
Jeanne dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. She worked diligently at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ, and St. Francis Hospital in Port Jervis, NY, where she touched the lives of countless patients with her compassion and expertise.
Jeanne will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert William McCaffrey, her sons, Robert M. McCaffrey, Jr., and Sean M. McCaffrey, and her sister, Bonnie Flora.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite Anna Marie Broeky and Clarence Corwin Ryder, as well as her twin brother, Robert P. Ryder.
Jeanne Ellen Ryder McCaffrey will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication as a wife and mother, as well as her invaluable contributions to the field of nursing. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
