July 23, 1950 – August 11, 2023
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that the family of Danny Daniels announces his death on August 11, 2023, in Greenville, NC.
Danny, age 73, lived a vibrant life despite having a defective heart. For the past forty years, he has battled heart surgeries and procedures but never complained about his limitations or questioned, “Why Me?” In February 2019, he became the recipient of an LVAD pump which was inserted in his heart to assist with blood flow in the left ventricle. This was not a choice; it was the only option he had for “life” at that time. So much maintenance and so many limitations, but Danny continued to testify of the goodness of God. It was during this surgery that he had an “out of body” experience while being unconscious for five days. When he was awakened after those five days, his first words to Peggy were, “We cannot miss Heaven.” His life had been changed so drastically, and he returned to his family with a desire to love God and people more than he would love himself.
It was important to him that he share this experience, so beginning in August of 2022, he started writing his story. This miraculous healing, physically and spiritually, is detailed in his book, My Heart will Go on Singing. The task of writing this encounter was very important to Danny so that people would know that God had changed his life………. He can do the same for anyone who will ask.
Danny is survived by his wife, Peggy, of 52 years; his daughter, Cara Daniels Sherman, and her husband, Greg; his grandchildren, Ragen and Spencer Twiford, who have brought continuous joy to him every day since the day they were born.
Other survivors include his five siblings, Flora, Linda, Diane, Charlie, and Mitzi, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with Danny’s wishes, the simplicity of cremation will be honored. He is HOME….. He is with HIS Savior….. He is Happy.
Please join and share condolences with the family at Manteo First Assembly of God, 812 Wingina Avenue, Manteo, NC on August 26, 2023, at 2 pm. Danny, along with his father, and brother built this church where he served as associate pastor for many years. This church and congregation will always be dear to the Daniels family.
Danny’s dream of sharing his story came to fruition earlier this year when he published, My Heart Will Go On Singing. To support and share his story with others, memorial donations may be made to Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo, NC, where all funds will be used to continue publication and marketing.
