On February 13, 2025, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service. Upon investigation, probable cause was determined that a crime had occurred and led to the issuance of warrants for arrest.
Luther G. Hooper III, M/68, of Avon, NC, was arrested and charged with (F) Indecent Exposure in Public with a Minor Present, Indecent Liberties with a Minor, and (M) Multiple Counts of Sexual Battery. He is currently being held at the Dare County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center in lieu of a $400,000 bond.
