On July 20, 2021, at approximately 1:01 a.m., a Deputy working the C-District responded to a fight-in-progress call on Surf Side Drive in Rodanthe, N.C. The Deputy determined that the fight was from a Domestic situation and a female on-scene had been choked by her boyfriend. Jonathan Thomas Blount, M/18, Hampton, VA, was charged with (F) Domestic Assault by Strangulation and is currently in custody on a no bond. Blount has a court hearing today.
On July 18, 2021, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a Deputy working the B-District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hwy 12 near SR 1243 in Nags Head, NC. During the traffic stop, the Deputy noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and drug paraphernalia in plain view. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and an amount of marijuana and a digital scale were located and seized. Tyler Corbin Marcinkevicius, M/21, Chesterfield, VA, was charged with (F) Possession with the Intent to Sell and/or Deliver Marijuana, (F) Possession of Marijuana, and (M) Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. Marcinkevicius was released on a $5,000 secured bond.
