Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum has summer programs for each day of the month

Share post:

The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in Hatteras village has a busy schedule of summer programs that are happening every day of the month this summer and cover a wide variety of interests.

Programs include activities for kids to enjoy maritime history through craft-making and for folks to learn about the history of the Civil War on Hatteras and German U-boats and World War II on the Outer Banks, presentations on decoy carving and on songs of the sea,  Outer Banks recipes, ecology, quilting, and much more.

The Museum is located near the Ferry Docks in Hatteras village and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

There is no admission charge, though donations are appreciated.

The museum, though not completed, does have other artifacts and exhibits, such as the history of charter boat fishing.  It also has the reconstructed original Fresnel lens from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

Volunteers are on hand to answer questions, so study the calendar and choose a program that will interest you.
