Updated: Hatteras Island hosting a wave of events for Halloween
Halloween is gearing up to be a wonderfully spooky celebration on Hatteras Island, thanks to a number of family-friendly events that are wide open to the public.
Halloween-centric events scheduled for this weekend on the island currently include the following:
Trunk or Treat – Avon
Sunday, October 31, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Beach Klub at Koru Village in Avon will once again be hosting their annual Trunk or Treat at the parking lot next to the Beach Klub and the Avon Pier. Volunteers will have their cars decorated with a spooky theme, and kids can walk around in a safe environment and trick or treat with friends and neighbors. Trunk or Treat – Frisco
Sunday, October 31, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Heritage of Faith Church in the heart of Frisco will hold their 10th annual Truck or Treating event, “Light the Night,” with a free raffle for attendees. (The winner will be announced at the event at 6:00 p.m.) The event takes place at the church site at 52406 N.C. Highway 12, and is free and open to the public.
Trunk or Treat – Hatteras Village
Sunday, October 31, starting at 5 p.m.
Hatteras village will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Halloween night that starts with hot dogs, chips, and drinks at the Hatteras United Methodist Church parking area, and which continues with the traditional Hatteras Trick or Treating experience. Trunk or Treat – Rodanthe
Sunday, October 31, 6:30 p.m. until
The Fair Haven United Methodist Church (UMC), in partnership with the RWS Civic Association, will have a Trunk or Treat event on Halloween night, complete with bounce houses, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, games, music, a bonfire, and much more. Haunted Trail – Hatteras Village
Saturday, October 30, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Hatteras Village Civic Association will once again be sponsoring the annual Haunted Trail in Hatteras Village on Saturday, Oct. 30. This year’s theme is “Swamp Monsters” and attendees can park at the Hatteras Civic Center before being transported to the trail where plenty of shocks and surprises await. The event is one-night-only, and the cost is $5 per brave attendee.
Halloween Party at Frisco Woods Campground
Saturday, October 30, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Frisco Woods Campground will be hosting a Halloween party with trick or treating from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m., and live music from the band Government Cheese from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The event will also feature a costume contest with prizes – open to people, campsites, and pets – as well as food trucks on site. Halloween Party at Turner’s High Moon Bar in Avon
Saturday, October 30, 6 p.m. until close
Turner’s High Moon Bar will celebrate Halloween, as well as the end of an era, as it hosts a 90’s-themed dance party on Saturday, October 30. The local bar and restaurant will be closing after the Saturday event, so the party is also a celebration of the establishment’s years of operation.
