Lighthouse Arts & Crafts Shows held every month in Buxton, next show is May 30-31

Rain or shine, visitors are welcome to explore a range of local artists and craftsmen at the monthly Lighthouse Arts & Crafts shows at the Family Life Center in Buxton.

Lighthouse Church of Buxton hosts this monthly event, where their venue is full of local artists who are able to share their talent in a clean, air-conditioned building out of the wind, rain, and heat that is commonplace on Hatteras Island.

The show’s artist booth fees, bag lunches, snacks, and donations help to fund other community outreach programs on Hatteras Island, such as The Vibe on the first Friday of every month. The Vibe is a free, fun-filled program for kids of all ages, and it includes basketball, volleyball, games, crafts, music, pizza and popcorn, and much more.

Other activities at the Family Life Center may include family gatherings, movies, concerts, Vacation Bible School, youth events, community-wide events and celebrations, and of course, the renowned and monthly two-day arts and crafts show.

The next art show will be held May 30-31 at 47833 N.C. Highway 12 in Buxton, and everyone is welcome to come out and support the island’s local artists while funding new opportunities for community outreach.
