Visitors and residents who enjoy open-air local markets will have three opportunities every week to shop on Hatteras Island this summer.
With the summertime return of the Tri Villages Market, Avon Farmers Market, and Old Trent Market, the island will brimming with activity on Tuesdays through Thursdays until Labor Day Weekend and beyond.
Details on each of the three markets are listed below, and all markets are wide open and free for the public to explore.
Featuring vendors, artists, and craftsmen from all across the island and the Outer Banks, each of the weekly local markets is worth exploring before the summer comes to an end.

Avon Farmers Market
Starts June 10
Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Located next to the Vacasa office along N.C. Highway 12.
The Avon Farmers Market, which is sponsored by the Avon Property Owners Association, features a variety of local artists, craftsmen, regional farmers, and other homegrown entrepreneurs, with a new-in-2023 location that is stationed on the grounds near Vacasa and the Avon Post Office. The market has 45 vendors every week, and runs every Tuesday until September 9.

Tri Villages Market
Saturday, May 24, and Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. starting on June 11
Located at the Camp Hatteras Conference Center, and/or outside on the soundside lawn
The Tri Villages Market features dozens of local artists and makers who are sharing their wares. The event is held rain or shine, (thanks to Camp Hatteras’ indoor conference center), and the hand-crafted goodies include local artworks, apparel, handbags and accessories, jewelry, coastal-inspired gifts, and everything in between. The market runs weekly until September 24.

Old Trent Market
Starts May 15
Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Located in front of the Frisco Woods Campground in Frisco
Returning for its fourth season in 2025, the Old Trent Market is going strong once again every Thursday with artists and vendors from all over the Outer Banks region. Continuing well into the fall months, the Old Trent Market features a distinctive collection of gifts, artworks, apparel, local crafts and goodies, and much more, and runs until October 30.
