David William Herrick


FRISCO — Dedicated husband, loving father, and true friend, DavidWilliam Herrick, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, Jan. 29,2016 at the age of 74. A former naval chief, David spent his retirementon Hatteras Island commercial fishing, which proved to be his passion.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Herrick; brother, Robert Herrickand sister-in-law of Saint Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters, Cheryl andShelley Herrick, who reside in Tampa, Fla., and Elke Schwartz andhusband and Lori Scarborough and husband, from Hatteras Island; and oneson, John Harting and wife of Crystal River, Fla.  He will also bedeeply missed by his five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

David was an honorable man and will be long remembered by the many people he touched during his life.

There will be a memorial service at Frisco Pier on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at2 p.m. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can bemade to OBPA, PO Box 1355, Buxton, NC 27920 or the charity of yourchoice.
