OCRACOKE — William Thomas Midgett,67, of Ocracoke, NC died Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at his home. Bornin Morehead City, he was the son of the late Betty Louise WilliamsMidgett and Ralph Midgett.
A United States Army Veteran, William served his country honorablyduring the Vietnam War. He then retired from the NCDOT – Ferry Divisionand also worked for the National Park Service. William was a Mason andloved fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
William is survived by his wife, Pamela Scarborough Midgett; threedaughters, Kimberly Midgett O’Neal (Reginald O’Neal, Jr.), MerrianElizabeth Midgett (Christopher Howarth), and Erin Michelle O’Neal (ChadO’Neal) all of Ocracoke; a son, Shanon Patrick Eiben (Suzanne FrancisEiben) of Frisco; four grandchildren, Cody Pinter, Payce Howarth,Carter O’Neal, and William Ross Francis; and a brother, Gerald EdwardMidgett of Ocracoke.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10,2017, at Ocracoke United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Bryantofficiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made toOcracoke United Methodist Church, PO Box 278, Ocracoke, NC 27960.
