His expertise was sought in many areas, including color development, line design, and trouble-shooting, all ofwhich took him across North and South America. The kids have many memories of their Dad as he coached their teams andshared his love of country music and the outdoors, teaching them tohunt, fish, and play golf. He looked forward each year to theBubbaFest and this special group of guys, where golf wasn’t really thepoint, and camaraderie was everything. He loved him some Bubbas.
Upon retiring in 2000, Jim and Pat moved from Smith Mountain Lake toAvon on Hatteras Island where he enjoyed surf fishing every day withhis furry companion border collies, Jenny and Nikki, grilling on thebeach, and sharing a “cold one” with friends. He loved the Outer Banksand the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area. Without BigJim, a bluefish blitz, striper run, or a drum bite at The Point, won’tquite be the same.
