COLINGTON — My daddy, Norman C. Edwards, 96, born in 1927 in Stokes, N.C. (formerly of Hampton, VA), was called home by The Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Daddy was surrounded by family.
After serving in the Navy from June 11, 1944, through May 21, 1946, Norman was honorably discharged. He retired from The Newport News Shipbuilding after 42 consecutive years as a general foreman in departments X 31 and X 01.
Norman is survived by his daughter, Carol E. Darrah; his grandson, William E. Lawson, IV; one sister, Geraldine Robbins; two brothers, David (wife, Patty) and Ronnie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; son, Donnie; grandson Donnie, Jr.; parents, Lee and Lina; sisters, Lillie, Ruby, and Edna; and brothers, Lee, Jr., and Kermit.
