HATTERAS — Rodney Lavern Horst, 57, of Hatteras, NC died unexpectedly Monday, June 24, 2019.
Born in Superior, Nuckolls County, Nebraska on June 30, 1961, he was the son of Phyllis Hoffman Wheatley of Lochbuie, CO and the late Robert Edward Horst.
Rod served his country in the United States Army and was the owner and operator of Village Drywall. He loved fishing, his garden, and the crew at the marina.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a special person in his life, Lana Woak of Hatteras, NC; two sons, Derrick Horst of Denver, CO and Steven Horst of South Carolina; and two brothers, David Horst of Lochbuie, CO and Michael Horst of Bennet, NE.
Along with his father, Rod was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Schlenker.
A private memorial service will be held.
