WAVES — Roger Lloyd Johnson, 64, of Waves, NC, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the Outer Banks Health Hospital. He was born on February 5, 1961, in Norfolk, VA,
He was a retired carpenter who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending his days cooking, fishing, and tending to his garden. Roger had a deep love for his dogs, Rosa and Nona, who were constant companions and brought him much happiness.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Norman Loy Johnson; two sisters, Valerie Lynn Hardy and Loya Locklear; his brother, Ronald S. Johnson; and his stepbrother, Wayne Bundy.
He is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Martha Alice Midgett Bundy of Rodanthe, NC; his daughter, Samantha; two sons, Chance Johnson of Chesapeake, VA, and Steven Caston of Pascagoula, MI. He is also survived by his sister, Jennifer Eckard and her husband Skye of Nags Head, NC, and his nieces, Aiyana Mourino and Kiley Eckard.
Roger will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will cherish his memory and the warmth he brought into their lives. A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates the support and condolences they have received during this difficult time.
