KILL DEVIL HILLS — Wayne Elijah Hammond, 73, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Born in Dalton, GA on May 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Haynie Augusta Jones Hammond and Eligie Ralph Hammond.
Wayne was an outdoorsy person, he loved anything to do with being outside. He loved living at the beach, that was his place. He loved tending to his garden and also loved music and playing the drums.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Gomez (Daniel) of Cypress, TX; three grandchildren, Michael McCurry, Jr., Shannon McCurry, and Aiden McCurry; and three sisters, Glenda Parks, Wanda Grant, and Barbara Sales.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Wayne’s life.
