Scott Babinowich was recently selected for the position of Chief of Interpretation, Education and Visitors Services at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, and Wright Brothers National Memorial (Outer Banks Group). He served in an acting role as the Chief of Interpretation, Education, and Visitor Services for six months last year. Scott will begin his new position in early March.
Babinowich is currently the Chief of Interpretation at Vicksburg National Military Park. Prior to moving to Vicksburg, Scott spent seven years in Arizona split between Grand Canyon National Park and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Prior to Arizona, he spent time at Great Basin National Park, and seasonally at Wind Cave National Park and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. For the past five years, Scott has been part of a National Park Service interpretive review team working to re-tool the interpretation profession for the 21st century.
Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology from the College of William and Mary and a Masters in Science Education from Oregon State University.
