52 new COVID-19 cases reported on Friday, setting new one-day record for Dare County

Dare County reported 52 new positive COVID-19 test results on Friday, January 1, bringing the total number of cases in the county since the pandemic began to 1,686.

Per the most recent update, Dare County currently has 157 active cases, and the 52 cases reported on Friday is the highest number of new COVID-19 cases recorded in a single day since the pandemic began.

The 52 additional cases consist of 36 residents and 16 non-residents, and include the following:

3) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
4) resident, 18-24, female, home isolation
5) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
6) resident, 18-24, mal, home isolation
