Electric line inspection to require lane closure on Virginia Dare Bridge beginning next week

Virginia Dare Bridge

Work to inspect and repair electric lines attached to the Virginia Dare Bridge will require a lane closure on the right westbound lane of the bridge beginning next week.

The four-lane bridge on the U.S. 64 Bypass between Manns Harbor and Manteo will remain open to traffic. However, motorists should be aware of the lane closure marked by signs and barrels, and reduce speeds when approaching and passing through the work zone.

Tideland Electric Cooperative expects to complete its work by the afternoon of Jan. 19, weather permitting.
