The main hazards will be damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or more, large hail, and an isolated tornado.
While severe weather will be possible across all of eastern N.C., the best chances will be areas on the mainland, along and west of Highway 17. The timing for thunderstorms is currently 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Tuesday, although this may change in future updates.
