Severe weather possible on Saturday evening

Share post:

A cold front will push southeastward into the Outer Banks area on Saturday afternoon and evening, bringing a slight risk of severe weather, according to an update from the National Weather Service (NWS).

The main potential hazards will be damaging winds gusts and large hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Some early afternoon thunderstorm development is possible, but the more severe weather is expected to occur late in the afternoon and persist into Saturday night. Heavy rain could lead to flooding concerns, primarily in flood-prone areas.
