Dare County sets holiday trash collection schedule

Dare County has announced its recycling center hours and the holiday trash collection schedule for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks.

The Dare County Recycling Center located on Driftwood Drive in Manteo, will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26.

The Manns Harbor Transfer Station, located on Hwy 264 West, and the Buxton Transfer Station will also be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26.

The Manns Harbor Transfer Station, the Buxton Transfer Station and the Dare County Recycling Center in Manteo will be open a half day on Saturday, Dec. 27 from 8 a.m to 12 p.m.

Holiday Trash Collection Schedule

December 22 – December 27:
Monday, Dec. 22 : Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, & Hatteras
Tuesday, Dec. 23: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo & Avon
Wednesday, Dec. 24: Closed, No Trash Collection
Thursday, Dec. 25: Closed, No Trash Collection
Friday, Dec. 26 : Closed, No Trash Collection

New Year’s Trash Collection Schedule

The Dare County Recycling Center located on Driftwood Drive in Manteo, the Manns Harbor Transfer Station and Buxton Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s Holiday.

December 29, 2014 – January 2, 2105:
Monday, Dec. 29: Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, & Hatteras
Tuesday, Dec. 30: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo & Avon
Wednesday, Dec. 31: Commercial Trash Collection ONLY
Thursday, Jan 1: Closed, No Trash Collection
Friday, Jan 2: Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras, Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, & Avon
