He has done nothing but further the divide between RPOs and NRPOs. Funny how they conveniently lift the restrictions right before the tourists typically arrive and expect them to forget the infringement on their rights. Really shows that the board only cares about money. Disgusting display of authority. I doubt they swore to uphold and defend the constitution when they entered their political posts…
The only divide is that the NRPO do not live here and therefore cannot vote on anything that affects them. By any measurement the lockdown was successful. One hopes the NRPO pending invasion will not add to the list of those who have the virus. I doubt there will be any measurable impact, but there will be once the “renters” show up.
For those NRPO’s who did not like the lockdown please sell your home and buy one somewhere else. We are all sick of the complaints and know that you will keep bitching about it for the foreseeable future.
I agree with your post 100%. The best thing we could do is reduce ownership and occupancy.
Buddy, I have read your ridiculous comments since the COVID situation started, but “reduce ownership” takes the cake. Buddy the Commie wants to reduce ownership. He thinks that he owns Hatteras Island. Unless you have the money to buy all NRPOs out, please refrain from making idiotic comments.
G Surf and Buddy, if either of you have $650k, I’d gladly sell you my oceanfront place. The big mistake both of you are making is lumping NRPOs with weekly renters. Ownership has rights, which seems to be lost on both of you.
Personally, I really didn’t have a big issue with the temporary NRPO lockdown. Finally Dare County came to its senses and is allowing rightful property owners in beginning tomorrow. They could cancel the upcoming rental season for all I care. Even though my place is booked full into the Fall, if that is what the county has to do, so be it. That action will destroy the local economy.
G Surf and Buddy, please post what businesses that you work at or own on Hatteras. That way, the rest of us NRPOs can steer clear of those places since neither of you want anything to do with rightful property owners that may not currently live on Hatteras.
I have already seen similar posts to both of yours from a Buxton-based artist that I have purchased items from at various Hatteras Island art shows over the years. Never again will I purchase from that person. I will tell him if I ever see him again.
Buddy doesn’t have a job. He’s a troll. He lives under a bridge.
So you think overpopulation and destroying the area and its inhabitants is a good thing?
We were much better off 20 years ago when we had real tourism.
People there were bitching about tourists and NRPO 20 years ago too so not sure what your point is.
Sounds like you want other people’s tax money for beach renourishment but you don’t want other people visiting.
