The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services reported that 300 individuals in Phase 1b, Group 1 were vaccinated at a Wednesday clinic held in Kill Devil Hills, per a recent online update.
“We are excited to share that we vaccinated a total of 300 individuals today at our clinic at the Baum Center,” the update stated. “We anticipate it is going to take us several weeks to vaccinate everyone in this phase, as we are getting a very limited supply of vaccines each week. Individuals who have completed the form have their spot in line for a vaccine appointment. You will be called (it could take several days) with your appointment location and time when one becomes available. We appreciate your patience with us.”
Dare County will host two additional upcoming vaccine clinics for individuals in Phase 1b, Group 1, which includes persons 75 years and older.
Advanced registration is required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and registration is currently open for any North Carolina resident or property owner age 75 and over.
Proof of North Carolina residency or property ownership is required, and documentation may include a North Carolina drivers’ license, copy of current lease or mortgage, current vehicle registration, or a current tax record. Dare County is currently accepting registrations for the following clinics. You must register for an appointment in advance, as there will not be any walk-up appointments.
- January 11th – Parks and Recreation, Kill Devil Hills
- January 16th – Fessenden Center – Buxton
Dare County will be providing the Moderna COVID 19 vaccine. The Moderna Vaccine requires two doses, separated by at least 28 days.
