The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce is seeking applications for the 2024 Small Business of the Year Awards to be presented on Thursday, August 29th at the Outer Banks Business Update & Small Business Awards breakfast. This event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn at 8:00 a.m. and will feature Gary Salimido, President & CEO of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

The Small Business awards will recognize successful business ventures in three categories:  Small Business with 10 or fewer employees, Small Business with 11-50 employees and an award for the best Cool Things Made on the Outer Banks.   Eligible applicants must be in business in the Outer Banks area (Dare County, Currituck County or Ocracoke Island) and members in good standing of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.

“We are looking for those that stand out above the rest,” said Chamber President & CEO Karen Brown. “These awards recognize community partners that make the Outer Banks a great place to live and work.”

A panel of judges from area nearby colleges and chambers of commerce from around the United States judge the applications.

The deadline for nominations is 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 19th. Applications can be found online at www.outerbankschamber.com/smallbiz2024 .

The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce is the area’s largest business membership organization representing 850 businesses in Currituck, Dare and Hyde Counties.  For additional information about the Chamber or the 2024 Small Business Awards, please contact the Chamber office at (252) 441-8144.
