Dare County, in partnership with Current TV, has released a new video highlighting Hatteras Village, a small unincorporated community located at the southernmost end of Hatteras Island on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

The video, which offers viewers an overview of this historic coastal community nestled between the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound, is part of the new Current TV series called “Discover Hidden Dare” that is designed to highlight various services, amenities, attractions and recreational opportunities that are offered within the unincorporated villages of Dare County.

Learn about the Dare County Library’s Hatteras Library branch, which provides an array of programs and activities for kids of all ages, as well as the Hatteras Village Civic Center, where an assortment of events are hosted throughout the year, ranging from fishing tournaments to wedding receptions.

Discover hidden hot spots for outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife lovers, such as the 3.1-mile multiuse Hatteras Village Pathway that stretches from the northern entrance of the village to an area near the ferry docks, where visitors can embark on a day trip to nearby Ocracoke Island or stroll along the Hatteras Village waterfront, enjoying the many shops and fine dining options that are available.

Take a step back in time at the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, book a fishing charter with an experienced local waterman, spend a day soaking up the sun on the pristine beaches of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, or stop by the Hatteras Welcome Center—located within the first U.S. Weather Bureau Station, which was constructed in 1901—and learn more about the rich history of the village and the wide array of events and attractions this hidden gem at the tip of Hatteras Island has for everyone to enjoy!
