Surfrider Foundation Kicks Off Specialty License Plate Campaign
As the unofficial start to the summer season kicks off this weekend, the Surfrider Foundation chapters in North Carolina are launching a campaign to establish a specialty license plate for drivers who “protect & enjoy” the state’s treasured beaches, waters, and waves.
The specialty plate features a sunrise beachscape design with the Surfrider Foundation logo and the “Protect & Enjoy” mantra. Proceeds from the specialty plate will support the coastal conservation efforts of the volunteer-led Surfrider Foundation chapters in North Carolina.
“We are so excited about the opportunity to raise funds and awareness to promote the protection and enjoyment of our North Carolina coasts,” said Tamara Warren, Chair of the Surfrider Foundation Outer Banks Chapter. “We hope these license plates inspire care for the coasts across the state.”
To establish the new license plate, Surfrider is working to collect at least 500 license plate applications before February 2023. Eligible North Carolina drivers can submit applications for the new specialty plate here: https://go.surfrider.org/ncplates
