HATTERAS– Betty Elizabeth Austin, 92, died on June 18, 2015 at Colony RidgeNursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Hatteras, she was thedaughter of the late Crawford R. Austin and Inez Gaskill Austin. Bettyworked as a homemaker and was a member of Hatteras United MethodistChurch.
Betty is survived by a son, Tracy S. Austin, and wife, Chyrel, ofHatteras; a daughter, Joanne Austin of Frisco; five grandchildren; andone great-grandchild. Along with her parents, she was predeceased byher husband, Ivey B. Austin.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at 11 a.m.at Twiford Funeral Home, Hatteras with Pastor Ken Davenportofficiating.
