AVON –April Rose Gray Rimmer, 67, of Avon, NC died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at her home.
A native of Buxton, she was born April 1, 1955, to the late Barbara Joan Gray and Theodore Boyd Gray. April was preceded in death by her son, Wesley Boyd Rimmer.
To know April was to love her. She was generous and grateful for everything. April was a good shepherd for the Lord. She watched over all God’s creatures. She loved animals and made sure they were well-fed.
Her friends and family knew they were loved because her unbounding love was evident. April always told you the truth even if it was unpleasant. She was a relentless advocate for being who you are and doing what you want. She was feisty, funny, intelligent, and creative. Her courage and unwavering faith carried her through life.
There is so much more to be said but in the end, what she did was make our world brighter.
What a celebration it will be as she joins her son in Heaven… Go DUKE!
April is survived by her sisters, “the aunties”, Donna, Ame, and Joni.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on February 4, 2023, at St. John United Methodist Church, Avon, NC.
