November 15, 2004 – March 21, 2025
MANTEO — Ashton Cole Reber, 20, of Manteo, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2025.
Born on November 15, 2004, in Nags Head, North Carolina, Ashton grew up on the Outer Banks where he developed a love for sports, Xbox, fishing, and spending quality time with friends.
Ashton was a highly intelligent young man who excelled throughout his school years. Enrolled in many advanced honors classes, he often solved problems in his head before others could work them out on paper. Throughout his academic and athletic journey, he earned numerous awards and recognition. Known for his diverse talents, Ashton was a competitive wrestler, avid fisherman, crabber, cook, and builder—he could truly do anything he set his mind to.
One of his most remarkable qualities was his incredible memory, especially when it came to the NFL. He could name every quarterback and their predecessors, leaving an impression on everyone who encountered him. Above all, Ashton will be remembered for his big heart and the way he made everyone feel special.
Ashton is survived by his parents, Tammy and Louie Reber; his siblings, Ashley, Tyler, Isaac, Brieanna, Hailee, and Aireanna; and his half-sisters, Bella and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Jonique Spruill.
Despite his young age, Ashton touched the lives of many with his genuine kindness, sense of humor, and captivating charm. Though his time with us was brief, Ashton left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will never be forgotten.
A memorial service to celebrate Ashton’s life will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Manteo First Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Dare Challenge.
