MANTEO — Barbara Ann Bowman Belvin, 82, of Manteo, NC, peacefully passed away on July 26, 2023, at Peak Resources – Outer Banks. She was born on March 9, 1941, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
Barbara dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing home for her loved ones. Her unwavering love and care will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Lee Belvin, Jr., as well as her parents, Helen Revis Bowman and Earl Bowman. Although she is no longer with us, her memory will live on through her cherished family.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lee Nixon (Michael); her sons, Richard Allen Lane, and Bill Lane (Kimberly). Barbara was also a proud grandmother to Breanna, Brandon, Stephanie, Logan, and Emily; and great-grandmother to Tristan, Kendall, and Braydon.
To honor Barbara’s life, a graveside memorial service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery in Kill Devil Hills. The service will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, where loved ones will gather to pay their final respects.
Barbara will forever be remembered for her dedication to her family and her ability to create a loving and welcoming home. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
