Linda Sue Montabon

December 8, 1940 – March 25, 2025

MANTEO — Linda Sue Montabon, née Latham, was born in Monroeville, Ohio, on December 8, 1940, and passed away peacefully at her home in Manteo, NC, with her family by her side on March 25, 2025.

Linda was the daughter of Guy and Dorothy Lathan and graduated from Monroeville High School and New York Tech. She worked for many years in Cleveland, Ohio, for Gabriel Company, H.K. Ferguson, and Chase Brass Company.

She married James Montabon in 1966 and established homes in Sanford, Grand Ledge, Brighton, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Atlanta, Georgia, and Avon and Manteo, North Carolina.

Throughout her life, she was active in school and civic organizations, including the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and Hotline for 25 years (Hatteras, Buxton, and Manteo). She enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, reading, and traveling. She was an animal lover and played competitive tennis with the Atlanta Lawn and Tennis Association for 18 years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jim; brothers, Dr. Andrew Latham (Jan) and David Latham; two daughters, Leslie Ann Gallant of Newtown, PA and Amanda Myers (Charlie) of Fort Bragg, CA; and three grandchildren, Kathryn Tecker (Ethan), Matthew Gallant, and Luke Gallant. Her beloved cat, Rusty, will also miss her dearly.
