Mary Lamm Gliarmis, age 87, of Wilson, NC, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Mary was a long time resident of Wilson, NC.She moved to El Paso, TX in 1995 and to Apex, NC in 2007 and has been a resident of Kill Devil Hills, NC since January 1, 2010.
Over the years, Mary was much sought after as she was an excellent executive secretary. She was employed as secretary to the president at Barton College, secretary to the president at First Union National Bank, and at NC Agriculture Extension, to name a few.She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her mother, Inez Massengill, and her loving husband, Steve G. Gliarmis.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Peggy Gliarmis Sutter (husband, Mark) and Harriet Gliarmis McRainey-Barr (husband, Michael Sr.). She is also survived by four grandchildren, John Pridgen III (wife, Amanda), Malcolm McRainey IV, Steve Pridgen, and Alexis Sutter.
Mary was so pleased to have a recent addition to her family, a great granddaughter, named for her. Isabella Mary Pridgen is the daughter of John and Amanda Pridgen.
Mary will be interred beside her husband, Steve Gliarmis, in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX. Due to COVID, there will be no funeral services held.
