KITTY HAWK — Nora Mary Sawyer Perry, 97, of Kitty Hawk, NC died Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. A native of Currituck County, she was born September 7, 1921, to the late Nora Mae Sawyer Etheridge and Edward Etheridge.
A homemaker, Nora was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Kitty Hawk and Ocean View Baptist Church of Kill Devil Hills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Arnold Perry; and half-brother, George Etheridge.
Nora is survived by two daughters, Judy P. Payne of Wanchese and Deborah Perry of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also, surviving is her half-sister, Margie Etheridge of Bells Island, NC.
A funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, July 1, 2019, at Outer Banks Community Church. Private burial will take place at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church beginning at 2:00 pm and immediately following the service for a reception at Spring Arbor of The Outer Banks.
