KILL DEVIL HILLS — Raymond Dale Tomblin, 61, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2020. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Donna L. Tomblin, and his brother, Steve Tomblin. He is survived by his family – companion/fiancé of fifteen years, Mary Anne Ambrose; son, Destin Tomblin; daughters, Sloan Tomblin and Madison Ambrose; father, Raymond Tomblin; brother Dave (Dana) Horner; sisters Sharol (Joe) Showalter; Debbie Carson; Kathy (Ken) Blouir; and multiple nieces, nephews, and their families.
Dale was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He has lived many places, including Arizona, that has always held a special place in his heart, but the Outer Banks was his home of thirty years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, of which he had many. His family’s memories of Dale include his deep love of the Cleveland Browns/Indians, hiking with his father, fishing, movies, and music. He could name every song and every song had a story for him to share. His family feels that the music he played and listened to was the soundtrack of his life and that soundtrack will keep them forever connected to his memory.
The family will have a private memorial service at Gallop Funeral Home on Thursday, May 7, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Flowers for the service are being arranged by the Outer Banks Florist and Formals and memorial donations can be made to the Outer Banks Hospital Cancer Resource Center. A larger memorial service for Dale will be held in Akron, Ohio at a later date.
