FRISCO — Sandra “Sandy” Wood Fletcher, 58 years of age, passed of natural causes at her home in Frisco, NC on December 25th, 2020. Sandy was born in Culpeper, VA on May 7th, 1962 to Margaret “Peggy” Crane and Harry Langdon Crane of Orange, VA and Boynton Beach, FL.
In Sandy’s 58 years, she filled many roles. A beloved mother, daughter, sister, teacher, coach, and friend to many. After completing college at the University of Virginia, Sandy worked as an elementary school teacher in Virginia for many years. She then followed her passion for fishing and the ocean to Frisco, NC. Sandy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandy is survived by family members to include her daughter, Elizabeth Fletcher Wharton and husband Greg Wharton of Amissville, VA; her son, Michael Scott Fletcher and his wife Amanda Fletcher of Amissville, VA; Sandy’s five grandchildren, Olivia, Aiden, Bennett, Adalynn and Davis; her sister, Alison Crane of Madison, VA; and her brother, James Russell “Rusty” Crane of Culpeper, VA. Sandy is also survived by her beloved dog and companion, “Sounder”. Sandy is preceded in death by her brother Harry Langdon “Lanny” Crane.
