KITTY HAWK — Stanley Warren Brown, born on April 16, 1932, in McCook, NE, peacefully passed away on December 1, 2023, in Kitty Hawk, NC. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Stanley lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be remembered.
Throughout his career, Stanley worked diligently for various organizations, including Memorex, Coyote Feed Supply, and Monterey Mushrooms. In addition to his professional endeavors, he pursued his passion for farming and horse training, showcasing his dedication and expertise in these fields.
Stanley had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him great joy throughout his life. He particularly enjoyed exploring garage and yard sales, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Additionally, he found fulfillment in horse training and showing, immersing himself in the equestrian world.
One of Stanley’s greatest accomplishments was his role as a foster parent to over 375 children. His immense love, care, and guidance touched countless lives, providing a nurturing environment for those in need. His unwavering commitment to making a difference will always be remembered and cherished.
Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances “Nancy” Brown, his second wife, Mary Brown, his brother, Albert Brown, his mother, Mable Gunther Brown, and his father, Ugene Brown. He leaves behind a loving family and a host of dear friends who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his children Nora Thibodeau, Roger U. Brown (Debbie), Gerald Brown, William “Billy” Brown (Loretta), Leonard Brown (Jennifer), David V. Brown, and Donny Brown. Stanley’s presence will continue to be felt through his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Helen Brown, Joy Mae Chilton, and David Brown.
At this time, no services have been planned. However, the memories of Stanley’s vibrant life and his immeasurable impact on those around him will endure forever in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
