Dare County will be applying for a FEMA Mitigation grant to assist homeowners with elevation of homes that are built below base flood and might have previously flooded. Two community meetings will be held to provide information on the application process and the grant criteria. Interested year-round permanent property owners of unincorporated Dare County are invited to attend. Jenny Jones, Dare County Grants Administrator, will conduct the meetings. Applications will be available at the meetings and must be submitted as soon as possible.
