One-Stop Absentee Voting Begins Thursday at the Fessenden Center in Buxton
One-stop absentee voting, (commonly known as “early voting”), begins on Thursday, April 19, for the May 8 primary at four Outer Banks locations, including the Fessenden Center in Buxton.
Early Voting allows any registered voter to cast an absentee ballot in person on select days prior to Election Day.
Unlike on Election Day, when registered voters can only vote at their specific precinct, one-stop voting allows registered voters to vote at any of the one-stop absentee voting sites in the county. One-stop sites will have all the ballot styles for a given election at each site, and voters may change their name or address, if it needs to be updated.
2018’s primary elections for Dare and Hyde counties include Republican contests for U.S. House of Representatives (District 3), Democrat and Republican contests for N.C. State Senate, and Republican contests for the N.C. House of Representatives (District 6) and Dare County Board of Commissioners. A complete list of all candidates in the primary elections, grouped by individual contest, is included below.
