This year, Dare County Public Works will have a modified garbage collection schedule for the weeks of November 19 and December 24 with two commercial pick-ups and one residential pick-up each of these weeks, as outlined below. Garbage collection the week prior to and after the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas will remain on a regular schedule.
Thanksgiving (Week of November 19 – 23)
Commercial pick-ups for all areas are scheduled for Monday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 21.
Residential collection for Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras on Monday, November 19.
Residential collection for Manteo, Wanchese, East Lake, Manns Harbor, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon on Tuesday, November 20.
The Dare County C&D Landfill, the Manteo and Buxton Transfer Stations, the Manteo Recycle Yard, and the Rodanthe Recycle Center will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 22, 23 and 24.
Christmas (Week of December 24 – 28)
Commercial pick-ups for all areas are scheduled for Wednesday, December 26 and Friday, December 28.
Residential collection for Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras on Thursday, December 27.
Residential collection for Manteo, Wanchese, East Lake, Manns Harbor, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon on Friday, December 28.
