UPDATE: Coast Guard Searching For 75-Year-Old Fisherman Near Avon

The Coast Guard continues to search for 75-year-old mariner Anthony Neri who did not return from a fishing trip near Avon, North Carolina, Monday.  

Coast Guard crewmembers located a boat matching the description of Neri’s Carolina Skiff 24 miles southeast of the Oregon Inlet Sea Buoy at 1:40 a.m., Wednesday.

The Coast Guard and other partner agencies have searched approximately 2,122 square-miles within the past 48 hours.
