Water Break Causes Temporary Loss of Water in Frisco

Share post:

A waterline leak at Lullaby Lane and NC Highway 12 in Frisco has led to water being temporarily shut off for Frisco residents as crews make repairs. As of 8:30 a.m., crews from the Dare County Water Department were on site and were working on resolving the issue.

During the process, a new valve will be installed at the site to minimize future issues for the Frisco area.

Crews are also hanging customer door notification tags on Thursday morning for affected homes, and there will be a total of 53 Dare County water customers that will be without water during the repair process.

Water customers along Hwy 12 from Palmetto Dr. to Lovey Ln will be without water during this time, as well as customers located along the following side streets: Mare Vista Dr., Old Landing Rd., Central Dr., Main St., Cemetery St.

The current estimated time that water will be off is from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. per Ken Flatt, Utilities Director for Dare County Water. Repairs times will be revised once the leak is excavated, and an assessment of the repairs can be made.

The Island Free Press will post updates as soon as they are available.
