The Avon Fishing Pier is planning to open to the public in May, and an official opening date is expected to be announced within the next several weeks.

In 2022, the pier opened on May 5, but in previous years, the Avon Pier had a late start to the season due to damage from a number of nor’easters or hurricanes.

This past year, however, there have been no major storms that damaged the pier, and the annual repairs and maintenance required for the 60-year-old structure were minimal.

In addition, the popular Summer Concert Series is returning to Avon’s Koru Beach Klub for the 2023 season, and this year’s line-up of bands was recently announced online. (The complete schedule is listed below.)

The first show will be held on June 22, and the concerts will be held every Thursday until August 17 at the Beach Klub, which is the largest outdoor venue in Avon, and is located next to the Avon Pier and Pangea Tavern.

Tickets for the summer concerts are now available online and can be purchased at the Koru Beach Klub website.
