County Releases COVID-19 Video Update; Still No Cases Reported on the OBX
The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services has released a video discussing the evolving COVID-19 situation in Dare County. The video featuring Health and Human Services Director Sheila Davies and Clinical Services Nursing Director Debbie Dutton addresses common questions on testing procedures in Dare County and the recent recommendations from the state to reduce the spread of COVID-19. As of 4 p.m. Friday, March 13, no individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Dare County. There are currently 14 presumptive positive cases and one confirmed case for a total of 15 in North Carolina. “We are following NCDHHS guidelines, by taking bold action now to protect the health of our residents and hopefully reduce the spread of COVID-19. We recognize that some of these measures are unprecedented and that this may be a scary situation, but facts over fear is the best way we all can find comfort,” remarked Davies in the video.
