Dare County announces 2025 Good Friday holiday closures and trash collection schedule changes

In observance of the upcoming Good Friday holiday, all Dare County offices and facilities will be closed on Friday, April 18, 2025.
These closures include the Dare County C&D Landfill in Manns Harbor, the Buxton Transfer Station and the Manteo Recycle Yard. These three Dare County Public Works sites will reopen and resume regular operating hours on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
All other Dare County offices and facilities will reopen and resume operating with their regularly scheduled hours on Monday, April 21, 2025.
Dare County Public Works—which provides trash collection for the unincorporated areas of the county as well as the Town of Kitty Hawk—has also announced a revised trash collection schedule for the week of Monday, April 14, 2025 to Friday, April 18, 2025 due to the Good Friday holiday closure.
Residential trash collection for the week of Monday, April 14, 2025 through Friday, April 18, 2025 will be as follows:

Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras - Tuesday, April 15, 2025:
Manteo, Wanchese, Skyco, Manns Harbor, Mashoes, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon - Wednesday, April 16, 2025:
Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras - Thursday, April 17, 2025:
Manteo, Wanchese, Skyco, Manns Harbor, Mashoes, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon - Friday, April 18, 2025:
Closed – no trash collection.
Commercial trash collection will take place on Monday, April 14, 2025 and Thursday, April 17, 2025.
