Dare County Schools (DCS) issued the following message on Thursday afternoon, January 24, regarding school operations on Friday.

Friday, January 24, 2025, will be a Remote Learning Day for all Dare County Schools, due to ongoing impacts from the winter storm. Students should follow the expectations provided by their teachers for remote instruction.

Staff may choose to work remotely or report on-site on a three-hour delay. Those unable to commute or work remotely should contact their supervisor to discuss alternative work arrangements.

While main roads are beginning to clear, many back roads remain covered with ice and snow, posing hazardous driving conditions. We anticipate resuming our normal school schedule on Monday.
