Saturday Update: The Ocracoke-Cedar Island ferry and the Ocracoke-Swan Quarter ferry also resumed operations as of 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The Hatteras-Ocracoke ferry will resume regular operations at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, per a Friday evening update from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division

Ferry service was suspended on early Friday morning due to high winds and hazardous weather conditions stemming from Hurricane Ian.

The Ocracoke-Cedar Island ferry and the Ocracoke-Swan Quarter ferry also suspended service on Thursday, and it is unknown as of Friday evening if these routes will resume operations on Saturday as well.

The Island Free Press will post updates as soon as they are available, and the public can follow NCDOT on social media or call 252-996-6200 for updates on the Ocracoke-Mainland ferry operations.
