Heat Advisory continues on Tuesday, July 16

Excessive heat is expected to continue on Tuesday along the Outer Banks and throughout Eastern North Carolina, per an update from the National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City office.

A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of Eastern N.C., including Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands, for heat index values of 100-110 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Actual temperatures will be in the 80-90 degree range.

The intense heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Information on the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke is listed below.
